Greetings GrayJays Community,
At GrayJays, our mission is crystal clear: to eliminate car crashes. Through our suite of services and cutting-edge technology, we’re committed to transforming this vision into reality. Whether you’re engaging with our driver training programs, browsing our website, or utilizing the GrayJays app, we want to ensure transparency about the information we collect, how it’s used, who we share it with, and the choices you have regarding your data.
Your safety is our top priority, both on and off the road.
Information We Collect
At GrayJays, we gather information with one clear goal in mind: to craft an exceptional and secure experience for our students, parents, and instructors, while consistently enhancing and innovating our services. There are two fundamental types of information we collect: the details you willingly share with us, and the data we receive as you engage with our services.
Information you choose to give us
When you join GrayJays, whether for lessons or to access our app or website, you’ll share essential details like your name, email, and date of birth. If you enroll in lessons or purchase services, you’ll provide your credit card info for payment. As you use our app to log drives, you’ll share your location and speed, along with 3D-accelerometer data capturing vibrations and forces while driving.
Information we receive when you use our services
When you utilize our services, we gather details about which services you engage with, how you use them, and for what duration. For instance, if you study for your written test using the GrayJays app or website, we may track the questions you answered, how long it took, and your responses. During lessons, we might capture video footage both inside and outside the training vehicle.
Usage information
We gather data about your actions through our servers. For instance, when you open the app and log a drive, we may track how long the app was open and whether you manually stopped the log or if it ended automatically. We also collect stats like how often you log drives or answer test questions. Similarly, when you browse our website, we may record the pages you visit and when you visit them..
Device information
When you use our services, we gather details about your device, like the type of phone or computer you’re using, along with the operating system and software. We may also note the unique device identifier, your IP address, and your internet service provider.
Location information
When you engage with our services, we gather information about your location. For instance, when you use our website or app, we may detect your general location. When you log drives, we receive your exact location and speed. During driving lessons, if your instructor logs the drive, we’ll also capture your location and speed.
Audio & Video during lessons
At GrayJays, our priority is your safety and enhancing your learning experience. During your driving lesson with one of our instructors, we may use interior and/or exterior cameras to record the session. These cameras will be clearly visible and may capture details like your driving actions, gaze direction, and interactions with the instructor. By choosing GrayJays for your lesson, you agree to the recording of video and audio during the session.
